Powering a green planet

sciam_special.jpgBefore it goes out of fashion, it's worth checking out the November issue of Scientific American, which is a sustainability special. What's most impressive is the online interactive version of one of their articles 'Powering a green planet: a path to sustainable energy by 2030'.

In the feature, two scientists, Mark Z. Jacobson and Mark A. Deluchi, offer a radical plan to achieve 100 percent clean energy in 20 years. The online version offers the same feature in turnable pages, but in a completely interactive format. By clicking on icons, you can access video links of interviews with the authors, or audio links with further information on any one of the numerous green technologies featured in the scientists' grand plan.

An editor's note tells us that this as a new approach to storytelling, which aims to engage readers more. In short, it's beautiful, informative and fun. And created by FlypMedia.com.
