Well done! The spirit of the rules perfectly agrees with observations made in the other fields (for example, see PLoS Biology Editorial)
Personally, I found such rules very useful, while talking to a fresh audience. However, these things do not help (or they are not enough) at the end of a session, when the audience is tired (usually >16.00). The worse case – last speaker before dinner 🙂
How to catch the attention of a tired audience? Is there something like “ten rules to wake up the audience”?
