H5N1 Avian Influenza Virus Evolution: Twice faster than Old Viruses

Recent H5N1 influenza viruses evolve twice faster than old H5N1 avian viruses. This suggests that the recent expansion of H5N1 avian influenza viruses in the Europe and the Africa would be due to the transportation between poultry birds, in particular smuggled domestic birds.
