Could a sprinkling of dirt save the glaciers?
Knowing how spiky glaciers form could give clues about how to slow ice melt.
Researchers have recreated miniature versions of curious spiky glaciers found in the Andes. By studying how these structures form in the lab, they conclude that inducing such spikes in glaciers should help to slow their melting, and perhaps provide a way to preserve glaciers that are under threat from global warming.

Insulate glaciers by dirt during coronal mass ejection from the Sun.
It is indeed a fantastic idea to insulate the glaciers by spraying dirt on it. The time of spraying dirt should be during earth directed coronal mass ejection (CME). During CME the free electron beam increses along with the rise in magnetic anomaly (Kp) in Sun-earth environment.Temporarily this is responsible for the rise in global temperature and melting of glaciers.
The hypothesis of insulating the glaciers if implemented can help in lowering down the rate of global warming.
