An intriguing new bit of information. Question from a non-medical, rather ill-informed sort here: Does the body form these protein combinations, or are they combinations that can be introduced to the body, i.e., via diet?
This is a horrifying disease, and am always interested in the new research.

It would be most interesting to know what molecular mechanism actually causes the memory loss - it might give a clue to the mechanism of memory itself. On a lighter note, I wonder if anyone has investigated the proximity effect of alligators on memory?
