To be blunt: Vittle statistics
Looking for the point of seemingly pointless research.
Today I bring you some research results that should please sitcom writers everywhere: men are fat slobs who prefer to dine on chicken wings, beer and solid fat, whereas women are iron-willed sylphs who subsist mostly on carrot sticks and tofu.

I don't know how it works in the US, but in the UK we "pore over" documents. No more pouring please! We could all get wet.

When women become pregnant, they usually gain weight that is hard to lose afterwards.

In Canada we also pore over documents. Perhaps we are looking so closely we can see the pores.

Sure, this could apply to the average person, but I sure hope it doesn't discourage people from cohabiting. If a man has a good diet already, he may even improve the woman's. These are just population observations, and obeying them as if they are life's facts destroys our independance.
We're still the ones who choose what we eat, maybe something like that will just make people more concious. I've also seen a lot of women with horrible diets... personally I'd settle with the 'letting herself go' nesting theory, because the fusion of habits thing doesn't make much sense.

What is wrong with "Men's diet" ? Whole chicken, butter, pasta and wine. See : FONCIN J.-F. : The true Western diet. (Letter) Nature Medicine 1996 2 255.(Ten years later, I am still in perfect apparent health).

What happens when women stop cohabiting? Do they return to their healthier diets and weights? What about same-sex cohabitees?

It is not only the food, other things too change and the direction of change can reverse after some time threshhold....you need to wait..
