i think that the effort to install bueys on the sea is a good thing but it's really gonna be tough to reach people. i don't think the text message idea could solve the problem cuz not many people in that countries own a cell phone!

The Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning System must give information to the general public. Kerala, the southern state of India suffered heavy damages during the Dec 26 Tsunami of 2004. Information shall be passed on to the researchers and authorities who are in charge of informaing people in advance.

I suggest that the Tsunami Warning System around the globe must pass on real time information to all relevant countries. Loss of lives on the December 26 Tsunami could have been reduced if proper coordination among the scientific community worldwide was there. Surely let this not happen again.

A new Tsunami study centre is opened in Cochin, Kerala, India. It aims to study the various aspects of TSunami hit areas and probabilities and the magnitude of future disasters. The move is a real timely one and it has to rise up to the effective level within no time.

I feel that the recent solar activity suggests that there is a chance for a major seismic event in south Asia by December 2006 and January 2007 Observations for several yeras substantiate this view.

Dear Sirs,
I am an amateur astronomer and at present deeply involved in the area of Extra Terrestrial Intelligence.
I am a PhD holder in systems area and I have authored 17 Popular Science books in Malayalam language of Kerala, India. I have published over 200 articles in Malayalam language explaining the latest findings in science.
I have made a finding that Moon has profound influence on earthquakes. Combined with other factors earthquakes form during full moon and new moon. The changes in the Sun are also responsible for the same. the details of the same was published in The Hindu an natioal newspaper in 2003. That article is given is available in the below given link. Several websites also carry the details of my finding and some blogs discuss this finding.
http://www.hindu.com/2003/11/23/stories/2003112304970400.htm
I have sent the details of the finding to several reputed journals I have sent the details to National Geograhic Channel also.
A programme named Naked Science: Moon Myseries was shown on National Geograhic channel on 27th November 2007 at 10.00 pm in India.
In this programme they have detailed the influence of moon on the Earth's climate and explained how Moon influences earthquakes and Volcanoes.
I wish to bring to your kind attention that the finding stated in the programme that moon influences earthquakes was done by me about 20 years ago. The details of this finding appeared in the National and local news papers in India.
In this program they explained the correlation between Indian Tsunami earthquake , Pakistan earthquake and the position of moon
which I identified and gave publicity during that period.
When I made the finding it was informed to the authorities and I got cold response only.
The finding which I have done was based on painful observations and studies which lasted for several years. A s you can see the 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Sumatra on 24th November 2007 happened on a full moon day. It is clear that moon has profound influence.
