This is an important, long-supressed analysis and story. For a useful, up-to-date review of research on occupational health and semiconductor manufacturing, see Joseph LaDou's chapter on "Occupational Health in the Semiconductor Industry" in the recently published volume, Challenging the Chip: Labor Rights and Environmental Justice in the Global Electronics Industry (Philadelphia: Temple University Press, 2006), URL: http://www.temple.edu/tempress/titles/1788_reg.html .
