Sounds very interesting. Especially the film by Hitachi - Get Perpendicular. i would have loved to see that and to learn more about this method of data storage.

The film may be posted on the MRS website (MRS.ORG in the next month or so. You can search: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies to learn more about the technology.
