Fathers of the zodiac tracked down
Astronomer shows when and where his ancient counterparts worked.
Using modern techniques — and some rocks — a US astronomer has traced the origin of a set of ancient clay tablets to a precise date and place. The tablets show constellations thought to be precursors of the present-day zodiac.

i would guess that the vedic cultures of india have at least 2000 years on the assyrians in terms of astronomy. they had a great need for it in their ocean going trading

And this is a big deal because ....? The Bible uses astrology of 2000bce. Gilgamesh uses astrology of even more ancient lineage. The Lascaux Caves of France were a planetarium and star chamber and calendar and that goes back to the late Ice Age.

Congratulations to Brad Schaefer!!!! More excavations at Ninova and Asur, may bring out more cuneiform tablets, containing more details of planetary impact on the mother earth.
