Aloha, chemistry! This weekend, more than 10,000 chemistry-philes descended upon the nation’s capital for the American Chemical Society’s 238th semi-annual meeting. The location is perfect because a) this year’s theme links chemistry to global security, a subject near and dear to Washington’s heart, and b) it’s about half a mile from Nature’s DC office.
Presentations have been going since 8 this morning, but at early afternoon the conference center’s still at a pretty low buzz. I expect it to pick up over the course of the day or by tomorrow.
I’ll try to blog the goods as best I can, but also check out The Sceptical Chymist, Chemical and Engineering News and #ACS_DC on Twitter for more ACS news.
