We at NPG are busy getting ready for the giant BIO conference happening here in Boston, starting this Sunday. A large contingent of us (including me) will be there, blogging and podcasting about the sessions and other events.
We’re hosting this event this Saturday evening. It’s a roundtable discussion about financing trends in biotechnology. It takes place at the Marriott Copley Place. And it’s free! Drinks and light food will be free too. Register by emailing: roundtable@natureny.com
Here’s how the editor of Nature Biotechnology describes the event:
>I think it will be an interesting panel. There’s a VC who has experience as an entrepreneur, a Portuguese entrepreneur who established the first biotech firm in Portugal, Fritz Buehler, an academician and investor who has backed several companies in Switzerland and heads the Biovalley investment club in Basel as well as an investor and consultant from Asia, who will give their views on how difficult life science venturing is outside of the West.
>The premise will be with all of these regions touting themselves at the BIO convention as future biotech clusters, do they really have what it takes to make a successful biotech sector?
On NNB, there is the BIO 2007 discussion group for people attending the conference to post questions and comments about BIO 2007. You can discussion your thoughts from the sessions, what the hot topics are, and even give restaurant recommendations. If you’ll be at BIO, join this group!
We’ve just posted a series of reviews of restaurants near the Boston Convention Center, to help you plan your evening activities.
