Orgasm Inc: Screening and Discussion

A company searching for the “female Viagra” asked Vermont filmmaker Liz Canner was asked to put together a package of porn for women participating in their clinical trials. So, Canner asked if she could document the search for the drug. The result is a film that asks — if a women is having trouble achieveing orgasm, does she have a disease? The film opens at Coolidge Corner Theatre on Friday, with a special screening on Thursday.

A post-film discussion with filmmaker Liz Canner, Paula Doress-Worters, one of the original co-authors of Our Bodies, Ourselves and co-author of Our Bodies, Ourselves for the New Century and The New Ourselves, Growing Older, Harvard Medical School professor Susan Bennett, MD, and Kim Airs, sex educator and founder of Grand Opening! sexuality boutique. Bennett and Airs both appear in the film.
