As if we hadn’t had enough amazing space news this week, I now learn that Buzz Aldrin is coming to town on 4 July, to give a talk at the Southbank Centre. It’s not very often that you get the chance to see a living, breathing historical character whose name will be remembered long into the future. So go snap up tickets quick before they sell out.
If you can’t make it, there’s another recommended spacey event coming up at the Dana Centre. At a special Dinner at Dana to mark 40 years since the first moon landing, Chris Riley will talk about his film In the Shadow of the Moon. Watching this beautiful documentary with Chris, some astronauts and Anne Druyan was my personal highlight of last year’s SciFoo, and I can highly recommend taking the chance to hear from the man who put the film together.
Right, I promise not to talk about spacey things for at least three days.
