The Boston area hosts a DYI bio group:
Synthetic Biologists are making biology more modularized, predictable, and easier to engineer. DIYbiologists are finding ways to use synthetic biology with off-the-shelf tools and do-it-yourself techniques.
Our monthly meetings feature a short talk by an interesting speaker, a show-n-tell section where everyone can demo their cool projects – be it hardware, software, wetware, art, writing, whatever – followed by time for social networking and refreshments.
DIYbio is is a community in which burgeoning biological engineers can come together to learn and share ideas, bringing back that enthusiasm for science we experienced as kids. DIYbio promotes the responsible and safe practice of scientific techniques.
We meet in the Boston area to discuss topics such as best practices, advances in related technology and market scope for new products.
