Harvard move to Allston in question

The Wall Street implosion continues to have ripple effects across university campuses. Harvard leaders are reexamining their plans to expand the Allston campus, in light of the recent shrinkage of the university’s endowment. Last year, Harvard started construction on a large new science complex in Allston, which would house the new Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology department.

But now, according to the Harvard Crimson, Harvard biology faculty are being asked to make room in existing buildings on the Cambridge campus for the department. It appears to be a contingency plan, in case the construction of the new building is delayed. The article says that so far, no changes to the construction timeline have been made yet. The building is slated to open in 2011.
