Evolutionary psychologist Marc Hauser will return to teaching at Harvard University next year, despite a university investigation that found the high profile researcher and author had committed eight counts of scientific misconduct.

According to The Harvard Crimson, Hauser will teach two classes next spring: Psychology 1066: “Origins of Evil” and Psychology 2381: “Hot Topics in Cognitive Science and Neuroscience”.

Hauser, a popular professor who has won numerous teaching awards, has been on leave over the past year. He was originally slated to teach two classes in the Harvard Extension School (“Cognitive Evolution” and “The Moral Sense: From Genes to Law”) this year, but those courses were canceled after news of the misconduct findings broke.

In a rare statement to the New York Times last August, Hauser expressed his hope that he could return to teaching and research. His lab at Harvard remains open but, according to the Crimson, is under additional oversight.
