Imperial’s online centenary

Imperial College continues to celebrate its centenary – both in real life, and online. The centenary website contains stories from the College’s past, submitted by alumni. Each week, another tale will be added until they accumulate 100 tales for 100 years.

Stories include the time Margaret Thatcher paid a summer visit at short notice, while disgruntled academics were recalled from the beach. And why the College’s ‘biographer’ Hannah Gay was once mistaken for a corpse.

Elsewhere on the site, you can buy centenary gifts including polo shirts and chocolate. They’ve even brewed their own beer to mark the occasion.

I hope I’m so active when I reach 100.
