Given my monomania for all things London, it’s not very often I find a new website about the city that I wasn’t previously aware of, let alone one that shares two of the three words in Nature Network London. That happened today, when I was pointed towards The Nature of London.
The site deals with the creepy-crawly-red-in-tooth-and-claw kind of nature, rather than the somewhat wider remit of our Nature site. But do go check it out. They’re looking for anecdotes and observations about London’s wildlife.
Is an acrobatic squirrel raiding your bird feeder?
Is a bird nesting on your balcony?
Have you seen a pigeon take the Tube?
Does an owl hunt in your local graveyard?
If you have any tales or tails that might fit the, erm, bill, submit your stories via the site. It’s all in support of a forthcoming BBC programme about urban wildlife; good timing considering the recent news of an urban fox attacking two sleeping children in Hackney.
