Anyone in the London area who uses Twitter as a source of science news and gossip…there’s a meetup just for you. The UK science tweetup (follow hashtag #ukscitweetup) happens roughly once a month and sees lots of chatty, sciency types gather together in a central London pub to, you know, chat about science.
The date for the next one is currently under discussion. You can have a say in the selection by voting here. Once that’s settled, and a venue announced, I’ll paste the details in here.
This UKscitweetup is a particularly special one, as it marks the departure of Karen James from these shores. Karen has worked for many years at the Natural History Museum, but is also well known for co-running the Beagle Project, to build a replica of Darwin’s ship and sail it round the world. So come along and wish her well in her new life over in the States (I believe she’s taking a plane rather than a 19th Century sloop).
