Science Events In London This Week

Monday

The Royal Institution is holding a series of day workshops for teenagers as part of Engineering Week. Each workshop focuses on a different project, including Robotics, Hip Joints and Crash testing and students work in teams to design and build their own project. 14-17 years, £20 for one day: book now.

Tuesday

A one-day course at Imperial for doctors today entitled Understanding the role of media in health. 9am – 4pm; book in advance.

Wednesday

Engineering week continues at the Royal Institution.

The Royal Society of Chemistry hosts Chris Martin, of the RSC Water Science Forum, for How to build a business on water, where he will describe the growth of his company’s involvement in water quality assessment and assurance. 6 – 8pm; Burlington House, Piccadilly.

Friday

Engineering week continues at the Royal Institution.

A rare chance to see inside the command module of Apollo 10 at the Science Museum staff are lifting the cover for visitors to see in for one day only.

Saturday/Sunday

A day event for families at the Wellcome Collection entitled Dirty Old London. Join archaeologists to learn how to find, analyse and interpret clues from days gone by, to discover what people ate, what they made, what animals they kept and what the environment was like. Saturday, 11am – 4pm; free.
