Wednesday

My Technology Can Save The World Dana Centre, 7pm. What are the most promising technologies for geo-engineering ourselves out of the problems of global warming? This being the Dana Centre, the debate runs a little differently, with a Dragon’s Den-style panel assessing expert ideas. Entrance is free, but should be booked in advance.

Thursday

Genetic Fingerprinting And Beyond Royal Society, 6.30pm. Alec Jeffreys gives a history and update of his pioneering techniques which brought genetics into the court room. Entrance is free, but get there well before the start time to stand a chance of getting in.

Friday

Packed Lunch: CERN Wellcome Collection, 1pm. Turn up with your sarnies to hear UCL’s Jonathan Butterworth talk about the pioneering work taking place at the Large Hadron Collider. Entrance is free and on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Saturday/Sunday

Nettle Weekend Natural History Museum’s garden, all weekend. Come celebrate the humble nettle, which has more uses than you might think. The museum will put on nettle-based refreshments and even conduct a nettle quiz.
