The Climate Files; the Battle for the Truth About Global Warming, Royal Institution, 7.30pm, £8. Veteran environmental journalist Fred Pearce and a panel of experts discuss those emails from the University of East Anglia.
Tuesday
Pandemic Influenza: One Flu Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Royal Society, 6.30pm, FREE. Yes, folks, that is officially the worst pun ever. But if you can bear it, Professor Robert Webster delves into the origins and science of pandemic flu. The event will also be webcast live.
GM – Saviour or Scandal?, Dana Centre, 7pm, FREE. It’s neither extreme, of course, but you can’t really run an event called ‘GM – in some cases rather useful, but questions still remain about its safe deployment in some cases’. Come and help thrash out the usual arguments and examples at the adults-only Dana Centre.
Staford Raffles Lecture 2010: The New Biology of Ageing, ZSL, 6.15pm, £20. This might well be booked out by now, but there’s nothing on the web site to suggest so. If you can get a ticket, you’ll hear from Director of the UCL Institute of Healthy Ageing Linda Partridge.

Astrobiology: The New Science of Life In The Universe, Royal Observatory, Greenwich, 7pm, £8. Talk and Planetarium show touring the planets and moons of our solar system in search of life.

Science of the Beautiful Game, Dana Centre, 6.30pm. A hatrick of events for the Dana this week as they screen the England v Algeria match live, with sports psychologists on hand to interpret the game.
