This Friday: Huge After Hours Party At Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum, seemingly fed up of listening to its neighbours partying late once a month, is to hold its own adults-only late opening this Friday. After Hours: Science Uncovered is billed as their ‘biggest-ever after hours event’ and will hook in to European Researchers Night, a continent-wide event to demonstrate the importance of science to the wider public.

What can you expect from the evening? Well, plenty of talks, tours, and demonstrations, of course. NHM scientists will be dotted around to explain the work they do. You’ll also find a Natural History Roadshow, to which (a bit like the Antiques Roadshow) you can bring photos or specimens of any unidentified creatures or plants you’ve discovered in your garden. Hmm, I’m still trying to identify those moths

The party runs from 4pm till 10pm this Friday (24 September). Entrance is free, and no need to book (although if you want to go on one of the tours, sign up at reception upon arrival).
