Tonight: From Lander to Chopra, Harvard Med to Harvard Books

If you cut out early, you could make it from one talk at Harvard Medical School on Longwood Ave. to another in Harvard Square.

From genetics to nature of time. From Lander to Chopra. From Harvard Med to Harvard Book Store.

Check out our calendar for details.

First, the annual Hollis L. Albright Symposium @ Harvard, where president Jeffrey S. Flier will give the annual “What’s New at Harvard Medical School” update. Then, Eric Lander of Whitehead Institutes offers a talk " Visions for the Human Genome: Where Are We Today?"

Then, at the First Parish Unitarian Church in Cambridge:

Harvard Book Store is excited to host an intellectual debate with physician and spiritual writer DEEPAK CHOPRA and physicist LEONARD MLODINOW as they discuss their new coauthored book, War of the Worldviews: Science vs. Spirituality. Their conversation will be moderated by Harvard theologian HARVEY COX.

In War of the Worldviews these two great thinkers battle over the cosmos, evolution and life, the human brain, and God, probing the fundamental questions that define the human experience.

How did the universe emerge?

What is the nature of time?

What is life?

Did Darwin go wrong?

What makes us human?

What is the connection between mind and brain?

Is God an illusion?

We’ll aim for both and send a few tweets to @Natnetboston.
