At a loose end tonight and fancy meeting a decendant of both Charles Darwin AND surgeon John Hunter? Head to the Royal College of Surgeon (which housed the Hunterian Museum named for that selfsame ancestor) tonight for 5.30pm to hear from poet Ruth Padel.
Ruth will consider ways of wondering what is inside the body, the organ or the cell, drawing from Hippocratic texts, the works of her illustrious ancestors and modern genetics, and illustrating her talk with readings from her own poems.
You’re advised to book in advance by calling the college on 020 7869 6560.
