Dr. Marc Weinberg from The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, MA will lead a symposium on the fundamentals of signal processing and filtering. Dr. Weinberg received his B.S., M.S. (1971), and Ph.D. (1974) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. He has been with Draper Labs since 1975 and has previously held the role of Instrument Development Section Chief and MEMS Instruments Test Section Group Leader.

In this symposium, Dr. Weinberg will discuss the basics of linear systems, analysis and sources of circuit noise, as well as filter design and applications. He will present a study he was involved with using Kalman filters to develop a balance prosthesis and will show real-time demonstrations using analog accelerometers.
