The topic for debate this month was, \u201cThinking Digital: Giving your research more reach (and making sure others can find it)\u201d and the panel featured:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mark Hahnel is the developer of Figshare.<\/li>\n<li>Carol Feltes is the head librarian at Rockefeller University.<\/li>\n<li>Veronique Kiermer is an Executive Editor and Head of Researcher Services at Nature, and a member of the ORCID steering committee.<\/li>\n<li>Cathy Norton is the library scholar at the Biodiversity Heritage Library at Woods Hole&#8217;s Marine Biological Laboratory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As is our usual format, following short introductory talks from the panelists, we invited attendees present in person at Rockefeller University or watching online to take part in a wider discussion.<\/p>\n<p>To read what people on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/S_O_NYC\">Twitter <\/a>were saying about the event, check out our Storify of tweets at the bottom of this post.<\/p>\n<h4>Blog posts about the 8th #sonyc<\/h4>\n<p>Do let us know if you blog about the event and we\u2019ll include a round-up of links here.<\/p>\n<p>Dana Foundation <a title=\"Dana Foundation blog\" href=\"https:\/\/danapress.typepad.com\/weblog\/2012\/01\/the-power-of-data.html\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Live-streaming and video archiving<\/h4>\n<p>We live-stream each SoNYC event to give as many people as possible the chance to take part in the debate.
