We plan to discuss the proposal in more detail at a later date, but I cannot help but refer to the graph that accompanied the story:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2482\" title=\"chart.orgiinal-2[2]\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nature.com\/spoonful\/files\/2008\/03\/chart.orgiinal-22.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.nature.com\/spoonful\/files\/2008\/03\/chart.orgiinal-22.jpg 800w, https:\/\/blogs.nature.com\/spoonful\/files\/2008\/03\/chart.orgiinal-22-300x115.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What I wanna know is who the one investigator with 11 <span class=\"caps\">NIH<\/span> grants is. Truly remarkable! I\u2019m willing to bet that this person has no strong criticisms of the quality of peer review at the <span class=\"caps\">NIH<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, this graph also reminded me of those plots you see of wealth distribution in New York or London, in which a few people have a lot of money, making those cities a lot less affordable for the rest of us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pretty interesting report in Nature a week ago about the NIH\u2019s proposal to revamp its peer-review process.
