Karl Irikura from <span class=\"caps\">NIST<\/span> predicts that adamantane (imagine 4 fused cyclohexanes, or just look at the picture in the article!) can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/nchem\/reshigh\/2008\/1008\/full\/nchem.73.html\">stable with one of the hydrogen atoms<\/a> pointing <strong>into<\/strong> the cage. He doesn&#8217;t predict how to make it though, so over to the synthesis guys&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Our new editor, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nature.com\/thescepticalchymist\/2008\/10\/reactions_anne_pichon.html\">Anne<\/a> &#8211; the final piece in the NChem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/nchem\/authors\/about_eds\/index.html\">team jigsaw<\/a> &#8211; writes about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/nchem\/reshigh\/2008\/1008\/full\/nchem.74.html\">&#8216;tagging&#8217; metal\u2013organic framework<\/a> materials so their volume can be fine tuned.<\/p>\n<p>Our third one this week covers a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/nchem\/reshigh\/2008\/1008\/full\/nchem.75.html\">certain prize<\/a> you might have noticed being awarded last week.
