“The thread behind all our efforts is a desire to help to create real opportunities for deep engagement with science—whether through educational programs, personal research projects, or public seminars. We try to bring together people interested in exploring science in exciting ways with the resources (material and human) they need to get their ideas off the ground.

Our hope is to build a community of investigators in Somerville—a kind of community college that really lives up to its name. Not a school in a building or a college in a community, but a community of people who relate to each other as colleagues: excited to learn and work together to explore questions they care about. This means that anything we think will develop opportunities for this type of community falls under our umbrella for “our work.” "
