Go Huskies! Win Grants!

If Northeastern University were in the middle of nowhere, the research that goes on there would get a lot more attention. But unlike three of its academic neighbours, it has no medical school. And it’s a short trip up Mass Ave. to that tech monolith, MIT.

But NU retains its techy-roots despite all the flashy dorms, nice landscaping and liberal arts retrofitting. This week, it became a $13 million NCI Center of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence. And, it just broke ground for a $12 million “”https://www.northeastern.edu/news/multimedia/video.html?contentID=dUASWy3IKEmlhP6YuA17sQ”>homeland security research center.” And, it also just won a $1 million grant from the NSF for the development of a new marine monitoring device.

Go Huskies! Maybe they’ll win this year’s Beanpot, the Harvard/BU/NU/BC hockey tournament.
