Today we released a large number of changes and improvements to the site, based on how you, our users, were using the site. We got rid of sections and features that weren’t being used much and clarified other features. Please read through our announcement about it to get the details.
One of the major set of changes was to the local hubs (Boston and London). The Boston hub on NN now consists of this blog, a new forum, as well as the jobs and events listings, which remain unchanged.
This blog has been renamed the Boston blog and will be more of a group blog, with Anna Kushnir, our intern community manager extraordinaire, taking the lead in posting here. I’ll chime in once in a while as well.
The Boston forum is open to anyone from the Boston area to post to. Use it to share news and thoughts and ask each other questions. If you’re not based in Boston, but are, for example, thinking about moving here or wonder what life as a scientist is like here, you can post there as well.
We’ve removed the local groups feature (where you could create a group that showed up only the Boston hub pages). Few local groups were being used, so we decided that all groups will be at the global level, meaning that you can find them on the global groups pages.
And we’ve removed the news section. News articles about Boston science have been archived here.
Let us know what you think. Please post feedback here or email us at network at nature.com.
