Call for Submissions

Special Article Collection
High Throughput Functional Genomic Screening
Organizers: Dr. Kaylene Simpson (Peter Mac) and Dr. Jennifer Smith (Harvard Medical School)

Scientific Data is inviting submissions releasing and describing functional genomic high throughput screen datasets. Submissions may be from a range of screening strategies that relied on a variety of different functional genomic libraries, including siRNA, shRNA, CRISPR, as well as cDNA and ORF overexpression libraries. Submitted articles may be considered for inclusion in a special article collection to be launched in September 2016.

Researchers will be asked to deposit their datasets into PubChem BioAssay, GenomeRNAi, figshare or other appropriate repository, alongside their Data Descriptor manuscript. Data submission to PubChem can be done with the PubChem Upload system, and questions are welcome at pubchem-deposit-help@ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. Data must be released to the wider research community upon publication of the Data Descriptor.

To be considered for publication among the first papers in this collection, manuscripts should be submitted to the editorial office by July 1st 2016; submissions after this date are welcome, and may still be considered for inclusion in this special collection on a case-by-case basis.

Interested in publishing in this special collection?
If you have any questions or would like to make a pre-submission enquiry, please contact the Managing Editor, Andrew Hufton, with appropriate details: scientificdata@nature.com

Edit (15 March 2016): changed “encouraged” to “asked” in the second paragraph, to help clarify that deposition of screen data to an appropriate repository is required for all submissions.
