We’ve just pressed the big red button once again. You’re looking at Nature Network version 3.12, with some important changes to the Groups and Forums pages.

1. We are now able to feature three Groups instead of the previous one.

2. We have a new ‘Most active’ section, which shows you those Groups with the most new members, notices, notice replies and publications. So now you know how to make your group appear on the front page.

3. We’ve changed the ‘latest group memberships’ section to only include people in your network. So you can see which groups your friends have been joining.

4. On the Forums homepage we now have the ability to feature four forum topics that we think are particularly interesting.

5. The way that the popular topics and popular forums are calculated has been tweaked, to better reflect the most active areas.

6. You can now add Nature Network blogs to your Technorati favourites. Just click the Technorati symbol on the individual blog’s homepage.

7. When you add someone to your network, you can now personalise the message they receive.

Phew. Another release is in the can. But no rest for us – the next release is due in two weeks, and we’re working on improving the People page and allowing bulk invitations. Stay tuned.
