Two of London’s finest and geekiest pub quizzes are back this month. (Although, as I know the people running the first one, and I’m hosting the second one, I should probably declare a conflict of interest.)

Tomorrow night, the Bigger Boat Film Quiz returns to the Boogaloo in Highgate. This monthly quiz is hosted by a couple of movie buffs who just happen to have scientific backgrounds. Their March quiz is themed around Science Fiction and begins at 8pm. Space, so to speak, can be at a premium, so make sure you get there early to bag a table.

Anyone who reckons they’re a hardcore sci-fi geek, we intend to test you; and anyone who thinks they don’t like sci-fi will be pleasantly surprised!

Secondly, my own science-based pub quiz returns three weeks today on 21 March. As usual, it’ll be held in the Time and Space bar at the Royal Institution, starting at 7pm. Entry is £2 per person in teams of up to five. The winner gets a share in the takings. I’ll be co-hosting alongside the Royal Institution’s Martin Davies.
