We’ve always maintained an events calendar on each of our local hubs on Nature Network. These list upcoming events, exhibitions and lectures associated with science. The London calendar has been laying a little fallow in recent months, but from this week will be regularly updated with all the upcoming local events I can lay my hands on.

The calendar is designed so that it can be added to by anyone. I’ll be making sure all the obvious public venues are included – such as the Royal Institution, Royal Society, Dana Centre, Wellcome Collection, Gresham College, British Library, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, Greenwich Observatory…wow, what a scientific city we live in.

However, I have a blind spot for certain research lectures and conferences at the universities and other venues not typically advertising to the wider world. So, if you know of any interesting upcoming science events in London, please do add them to the calendar and help build the site up to a valuable resource for scientists and anyone in the capital with an interest in science.

Boston and New York also have events calendars (although the latter is a little quiet) – ideal if you’re visiting those cities and want to settle into the local scientific scene.
