Four Must-See Talks At The Royal Society

The Royal Society is now in its 350th year. I’m sure I’ll be writing a fair whack about their anniversary celebrations as the year goes on. But here are four star-studded (in scientific circles) events over coming weeks that are worth highlighting. All talks are free and seating is allocated on a first-come basis. (And you may want to get there early, as previously noted.)

19 January

Geoengineering: A brave new world?

Curator: Professor John Shepherd FRS

Speakers: Professor Brian Launder FREng FRS, Dr David Santillo, Professor Corinne Le Quéré, and Professor Steve Rayner

26 January

The eerie silence: are we alone in the universe?

Speaker: Prof. Paul Davies

8 February

The great ideas of biology

Speaker: Sir Paul Nurse, FRS

10 February

The secret mathematicians

Speaker: Prof. Marcus du Sautoy

Remember, you can keep up-to-date with all scientific events (and add your own) on our events calendar.
