Green chemistry, birds of Cape Cod and other scientific day trips

Photo0455.jpgWe’ve loaded up our expanded vacation calendar with science-tinged events in Boston and beyond, including Cape Cod, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.

Lots of things to do with the kids, but plenty for adults, including a bird watching cruise, a talk about green chemistry, a beach biology workshop for teachers and a fish count in Gloucester.

On the Cape, see Mass Audubon and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History for programs and exhibits like Mudflat Mania — a series of beachside explorations where visitors learn about the fascinating world of creatures living on, in, and under the Brewster mudflats behind the Museum.

Bring a pail, wear water shoes and explore the Brewster Flats with a Museum naturalist – add a notebook, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn for a great experience. Members: Adult/$4, Senior/$3, Child/$2. Non-Members: Adult/$6, Senior/$5, Child/$4. Call for information: 508-896-3867, ext 133.

And for those in town, there’s the last of the Broad Institute talks Wednesday, July 27th, 6-7pm
