Summer holidays have well and truly started now, so a bit of a quiet week on the event calendar front. As always, if we’ve missed any out, do let us know!
Tuesday
One for children on holiday at the Royal Institution today: the L’Oreal Young Scientist Centre will be opened up for a workshop on making fizzing bath bombs, lip balms and more. 10:30am – 1pm, £10 a head for children 7+; book soon because it’s almost sold out.
Wednesday

Thursday

Urban Sputnik, created by Imperial’s Astrophysics group and designers from Gammaroot, is an installation in the RI including a sculpture representing Red Shift, and may be seen until the end of the week. This free talk will be held in the RI’s Time and Space bar with the creators of the exhibit. 7pm.
Meanwhile tonight a double bill at the Wellcome Collection to mark 75 years of the Wellcome Trust: a personal look at Wellcome Founder Henry Wellcome at 6pm, followed by How to best nurture art and science in an age of austerity at 7pm. Both events free.
Friday
