Nature reports — avian flu

Nature reports — avian flu is now live. This interactive site is the first of a new series of “Nature reports” websites. It contains links to the latest research on avian flu; a timeline of key scientific and political milestones from around the world, charting the first appearance of H5N1 avian flu in Hong Kong in 1997 to its global spread today; frequently asked questions about the disease and its spread; a blog discussion of important and topical aspects of the disease; and Nature’s award-winning Google Earth “mashup” that allows you to track the global spread of the HN51 virus since 2003. As well as all this, you can search the site by selected keywords, and sign up to the avian flu newsletter. You can download the quarterly digital edition free, and the updates are available via RSS feed. Check it out, join in the discussion on the site, and watch this space for news of the next in the Nature reports series.
