Here’s something you don’t read every day:
Jennifer is available to [be] photographed/filmed looking at her heart and to talk about the remarkable, emotional and humbling experience of seeing your heart outside your body and how she feels about viewing the organ that almost killed her.
As regular readers will have guessed, this relates to the Wellcome Collection’s Heart exhibition. In a kind of marketing finale (the exhibition ends on 14 September), transplant recipient Jennifer Sutton will be paying a visit to the gallery today, to view her own expelled organ. Read all about it in the newpapers tomorrow.
It’s not quite the final beat before the Heart closes down. Heartfelt Emotions on 7,8 September is a symposium that ‘brings together experts from the worlds of science, history, art and philosophy to explore the role of our heads and hearts in shaping our moods and behaviour’. More details in our events calendar.
