Science In Stitches

London’s premier knitting circle, Stitch London (formerly Stitch and Bitch), have a marked preponderance of science-themed activities coming up. Take a look-see here.

For starters, they want you to knit yourself for an exhibition at the Science Museum. Entries will go on display in the reopened Who Am I? gallery in June.

To go along with the exhibition, a couple of yarnsmiths are attempting to knit chromosomes, complete with telomeres.

Finally, there’s an opportunity to knit among the skeletons and jarred specimens of the Hunterian Museum on 14 May at the All Stitched Up event.

And while we’re talking about scientific needlework, I can’t resist linking off to my wife’s knitted dolls of Darwin and Lonesome George.
