To mark the turn of a new year, Nature is republishing its first Futures anthology as an eBook — featuring 97 stories from authors including Arthur C Clarke, Greg Bear and Cory Doctorow.
What’s more, Nature Physics has decided to launch its own Futures slot, throwing up twelve more opportunities a year for all you sci-fi enthusiasts to put pen to paper.
To celebrate the release of the eBook and Nature Physics’ trip to the Futures, we’re offering you the chance to win a copy of the eBook, as well as a year’s subscription to Nature, with 5 runners up getting a copy of the eBook.
To enter, we want you to tell a short sci-fi story in no more than 200 characters. That’s right. Only 60 characters more than your average tweet.
From aliens to Armageddon, anything goes, so long as it’s sci-fi, original and hasn’t been published elsewhere. To enter, you’ll need to type your tale into go.nature.com/rnrnxx. All entries must be received by 31st January 2014. Robots, aliens and genetically modified beings need not apply.
You can purchase it online from Amazon, iTunes and other book retailers from 24th December. Great if you’re in need of a last minute stocking filler.
